Your Life IS Deliberate

As I was laying in my bed yesterday aligning with myself, a passage from Seth Speaks suddenly popped into my head. I remember this passage vividly, because it really struck me when I read it originally. I hadn't thought of it recently at all, until I was aligning ways to express what I know. I have the big red copy published in 1972 and the passage is on pages 426-427, or in Chapter 22 if you have a different copy. It reads as follows:

I was once a mother with twelve children. Ignorant in terms of education, far from beautiful, particularly in later years, with a wild temper and raucous voice. This was around Jerusalem in the sixth century. The children had many fathers. I did my best to provide for them.

My name was Marshaba. We lived wherever we could, squatting in doorways and, finally, all begging. Yet in that existence, physical life had a contrast, a sharpness greater than any I had known. A crust of bread was far more delicious to me than any piece of cake, however well frosted, had ever been in lives before.

When my children laughed I was overwhelmed with delight, and despite our privations, each morning was a triumphant surprise that we had not died in our sleep, that we had not succumbed to starvation. I chose that life deliberately, as each of you choose each of yours, and I did so because my previous lives had left me too blasé. I was too cushioned. I no longer focused with clarity upon the truly spectacular physical delights and experiences that earth can provide.

Though I yelled at my children and screamed sometimes in rage against the elements, I was struck through with the magnificence of existence, and learned more about true spirituality than I ever did as a monk. This does not mean that poverty leads to truth, or that suffering is good for the soul. Many who shared those conditions with me learned little. It does mean that each of you choose those life conditions that you have for your own purpose, knowing ahead of time where your weaknesses and strengths lie.
You chose your life conditions, and you may or may not be able to change those conditions from your current perspective depending upon the INTENTIONS you had when you came into this life. Therefore, to promise someone that they can Be, Do, or Have anything they desire during this life is an out and out LIE. You may or may not be able to attain certain things. It all depends upon intentions you set that you may or may not remember anytime soon.

The events within the past few months and years were going to happen NO MATTER WHAT I did. There was absolutely NO way for me to manifest myself away from or around them, because the All of Me knew BETTER than I can what I was TRULY wanting. There is a path of joy, but it is not through trying to manifest, or align with "source", or be somebody you're not. It's about BEING who you CAME to BE. Otherwise, you're just aimlessly wishing for a better life and missing out on the life you came to live, which in all likelihood will just end with you wanting to repeat what you just glossed over, since you wanted that in the first place.

  1. this one is amazing. i felt it.

    just one question:
how do parallel/probable realities fit in here? as in any choice we make is moving us into another reality? say it clicks in this life and we truly how great life can be by living in contrast for a while. does that really mean we have to continue to wake up grateful we & our children are alive every day? because honestly, that could get a little wearing and perhaps start making one a little crazy. do we not have the power to choose better and more now, in this lifetime? to let that contrast be the catalyst that skyrockets us into something else?

  2. If Abraham wanted to teach people the thing that is must valuable, how to feel good, be happy etc, they would say, "live your life, be thankful, and don't want anything."

A person who isn't thankful will NEVER be happy. I actually think Abraham's message sets people up to never be happy. Ever. Because it constantly creates that "gap" you mentioned either in your blog or on an abetalk post.

Recently after standing meditation (stand upright, think nothing, just be)... I had a thought.-->

First let me give some background. A few days ago I had told my girlfriend that I would like a bureau from the thrift store that is made of good solid wood and would last forever, that I saw at the store. She scoffed at it. Saying she wanted an Ikea bureau.

The thought I had after meditation was this: "those two bureaus are EXACTLY the same, except the wood one will last forever, and is way cheaper" the only difference is the cultural bullshit thrown on top, which causes people to see certain things as ugly. When in fact ugly is totally in the eye of the beholder. When we pump up our desire, like Abraham teaches, you totally miss the wonder all around. Then suddenly you aren't satisfied. You can't see the beauty that is there.

Those two bureaus are the same, except one is basically free, and will last for years on end. But someone convinced us that there is something "fancy, and more desirable" when that perception is totally fabricated out of nothing.

    Make sense?

  3. Alex! Yes. Absolutely. And I agree, and I would buy the damn wood one myself.

I don't comb my hair anymore or brush my teeth, because my broader aspect says, "Why?" Those were imposed upon you as a child.

Heck, I wear the same clothes several days in a row now. I don't care. If someone doesn't like my personal grooming, they can get out of my life and never come back. TV is the worlds largest psychic dominator. TV is the worlds, largest and most dissatisfying subreality. TV is a pacifier for slaves.

  4. Elizabeth:

My point in all this, is that you don't know what your intentions were when you came here. You literally, before you were born, could have said, "During this lifetime, I never want to be rich. I want to be poor until the day I die." Guess what? You will NOT be able to break that intention, because you set it at a higher level within your being, and that holds precedence.

Your questions IS a "law of attraction" question. "Law of attraction" is a lie. There is however a path of joy within whatever circumstances you have ALREADY chosen for this life. The task is not to figure out some process or method and bend and contort yourself to it, so that you can get what you want. The task is to line up and BE YOU. When you BE YOURSELF, you will be joyful, no matter what that is, and you won't be worried about trying to figure out how to control and manipulate "the universe" to grant your tiny socially conditioned wants.

Alex, has a good point on this. Abraham is SETTING people up, to NEVER be happy, because Abraham is SETTING people up to never be satisfied. They promise everything, and deliver nothing. And, any failures to get what you want, are YOUR FAULT. Which is then more reason to be unhappy and unsatisfied. It's a vicious, cleverly designed, mind prison.

There is a path of joy, but it only comes about by connecting to the bigger part of YOU. Not me. Not some slimy non-physical "teachers". YOU.

You can, through connection to yourself, find out what your intentions were for this life, assuming you didn't intend to keep yourself from knowing those. See, I can't say, what anyone else can or cannot achieve or accomplish during this life, because I don't know what choices you have made yourself.

All I CAN SAY IS: You have choices. You've made choices. You are bigger than you. There is a path of JOY. Connect to YOURSELF.

  5. the part I always had a hard time with with regards to Abe's messages is that you are supposed to be wanting all kinds of things and think and be so extremely joyful, but in the meantime, you KNOW deep in your gut that some of the stuff was never going to happen. Abraham totally takes away your gut feeling and I can't understand this. But you guys are right; the message sets you up to want so much stuff and if it doesn't happen its your own fault. Hey, no wonder Abe-Hicks was taken out of the "Secret" LOL

    ReplyDelete
  6. Abraham-Hicks and "The Secret" are really the same thing. It's the same message just served on a different platter.

Yes. You are creating your own reality, and yes you can learn to see things from new perspectives and find happiness, which I do. Whether my circumstances change however is up to the All of Me, the bigger part of me. Not some external "source" or "the universe", but the big consciousness that is Me.

I trust Me. I trust that bigger part of me to know what circumstances I'm here to receive, even if that means from someone else's perspective they are bad or even "wrong" circumstances.

I have learned so much, experienced so much love and joy, from ME, because of the exact circumstances I'm in, which most people would find "bad". I would never change things, or look back and doubt the perfection of it. And now, from my place of SELF power, because I allow myself to BE MYSELF and feel my own gut reaction, I can move forward and learn to appreciate my now, without trying to achieve and manifest a bunch of nonsense.

It's the simple things. All I need is food and water, hopefully some shelter, I guess clothing is optional, a luxury. :-)

  14. i truly get your point about LOA=LIE and being true to YOURSELF only.

my question was not law-of-attraction-y (i.e. feeling/attainment), it was more bashar-y (parallel reality/quantum physics) in that "every change is a complete change".

because here we are in this lifetime after living many lifetimes that our inner-being/oversoul (whatever name you wanna use) have guided us on, right? however, in THIS lifetime, we are now aware. we know things that we didn't get to know before - like about our oversouls & parallel realities, etc.

so then, in that case, why would we want to stay in a situation of begging and hoping every night that our children wouldn't die? why wouldn't we use the knowledge we have obviously been given by our oversoul/all-of-me, and change those circumstances?

you make it sound like our life plan is set in stone from minute one, and that choice & advancement is not involved at all. that we can't make changes for the better - not for attainment or an ikea bureau - but simply by already having gone through all of that and now being advanced so we are now totally able to appreciate each crust of bread even though we have the ability to make cake.

    see what i mean?

    ReplyDelete
  15. "so then, in that case, why would we want to stay in a situation of begging and hoping every night that our children wouldn't die? why wouldn't we use the knowledge we have obviously been given by our oversoul/all-of-me, and change those circumstances?"

I would enjoy answering this from my own perspective :)

--> because your vision of what is "better" is not always correct. You don't really know which life is more fulfilling: the cake-filled life, or the crust-of-bread life.

The lie is that by getting everything you think you want that you are now in a more "advanced" place.

Cake is not more advanced than crusts of bread.

"that we can't make changes for the better"
We can't make changes for the better, correct! Because how can we change perfection into better?

Why do you think cake is inherently better?

If you thought about it, if you reflected on it, if you saw the bread, and saw the cake, you may see they aren't better or worse, they are different.

You want to "advance" beyond our meager, lowly beginnings or ignorance. But there is nothing to advance TO.

    ReplyDelete
  16. fine, let's take out the words "better" and "worse" - let's use "personal preference" which reflects the truest part of ME. MY personal preference. it would definitely NOT be watching my children starve every day. it would definitely NOT be begging. although, yes, i can see why Seth - and myself even - would choose a life like that to show me things i never would have seen or felt or done if i had kept on with cushier/easier lives.

i agree that everything is perfection on one sense, but what are we talking about here? i thought we weren't going into the froofy spiritual everything is great all the time shit. i thought we were talking about BEING TRUE TO ME in THIS here and now.

and in this here and now, i know things that i didn't know in past lives and that a lot of human beings right now don't know. and why would i shut all that off again just to feel like crap every day and ooo enjoy this perfection of moldy bread crusts?

makes zero sense to me. because in staying true to me and my personal self, i do not need things to be perfect or look a certain way for society or collect a bunch of useless crap that ultimately means nothing. that's not the path i am taking either - i am living less is more - BUT i know i have choices in this life and that i am not stuck. i know that my inner-being is very happy that we are this connected while i am human. i know she loves it when i feel good and not miserable. btdt, and moving on.

  17. Hey it's my perspective. You asked a question, I offered my perspective. :)

Even from a LoA perspective, the desire to change is rooted in feelings of imperfection. It creates a continual loop of being not quite where you want to be.

I hope you aren't looking to Andrew (or me for that matter) for answers.!

  19. On another note (I wish I could edit comments :))

Even IF certain things were better or worse than others, how would you know? How could you be confident that what you THINK is better actually is? Do you think you hold enough knowledge to be able to accurately assess in every situation what is and is not better?

  23. Alex post away. Answer away. Perspective away.

I AM NOT here to have all the answers. I AM NOT here to lead anyone. I finally see that, very clearly.

My message is this. You have a Bigger Being. Get to know it. Get to know it. Get to know it. That's your path of joy.

In other words, the answers are within. I have them for me, and I'm getting what I want through this connection with self. What's working for me, may or may not work for someone else.

I'm here. I see a lot of contradictions in the "law of attraction" con-game. I feel like expressing those. If someone finds value in that, fine. If not, fine.

I need to go back and read. I was swamped with all the replies.

Be you Alex. You can do no wrong if you're being you. Post away!

  24. Ok, back to Elizabeth's ponderings.

We can't use the example of Seth in this case. None of us are starving.

I have food. I have water. I have shelter. I have clothes. I have internet access. For the most part, that's pretty much it. I have about $200 to my name. I am joyful. I am thankful. I am experiencing AMAZING things in other dimensions of myself.

Yes. You would want more. Yes. You would not want to watch your children starve. I'm sure Seth wanted more, no matter what he/she knew at the time.

The point is, not, how can I change these things. The point is, how can I ALIGN with Who I AM. How can I BE ME? In my case, my Bigger Being WANTS me to get angry right now. My Bigger Being WANTS me to be outraged at lies and abuse. It feels REALLY REALLY good. This is a part of myself I was denying, I was locking out of potential.

My path of joy right now is ANGER. I'm smiling and I'm angry. It's amazing. I'm even laughing. I'm OUTRAGED. I'm FURIOUS.

You know what feels really good after someone lies and rapes you for 20 years? Killing them slowly with a toothpick. There's nothing wrong with that. That's my current path of joy.

This path is NOT what I would have expected, or anticipated, or even "wanted". BUT... from that alignment with self, it is Who I AM. I have learned something about ME. I like to get involved. I like to express what I see. I like to point out contradictions, even if other people don't want to hear them. That's Who I AM.

In that activity, right now, that is my joy. And I trust in my Bigger Being to take care of the other circumstances. I don't have to worry about having less than $200. I don't have to worry about whatever. Not my job. My job is to BE ME, and experience this delicious life, right now.

Any activity, or method, or teaching, or process that's promising me I can change things, is pulling me away from me being me.

It's possible there are things you think you want right now, that your Bigger Being KNOWS you really don't want. Once you connect with yourself, which everyone is to some degree, and really pay attention to what YOU think and YOU feel and YOU know, then you'll naturally DO whatever feels best for you to do, and from that... you'll be on your most joyful path, even if you're sad or angry or outraged or happy.

  25. Pooks Said:

    "Your life is deliberate"
"In saying this, are you speaking for others?"
"In other words; are you telling others what their reality is?"

    Andrew Replies:
Yes. I am telling people what is inherently KNOWABLE. We exist. I exist. You exist. We make choices. Those choices become real or "true".

If you spent a few minutes listening to what you can actually KNOW and INFER from self observation of consciousness, then you would understand that there is a BASE reality.

But I won't waste your time, expressing that, since I'm just trying to sell you some books.

The different between me and "law of attraction" swindlers. Is that I am NOT promising people they can be, do, or have anything they desire. I am not making empty promises. I am not claiming to hold all the answers. I am encouraging people to listen to themselves.

If you have a problem with that, go start a new blog called, "Why Andrew Wilcox is a Fraud". Enjoy.

I am thinking back to the story about when you were guided to sort of gargle with cranberry juice.

Here's the food for thought question:

(Or at least it would be good clarification) Why did your flow/guidance have you gargle with cranberry juice if the world is only thoughts?

Clearly at least at that time in your life, your flow specifically wanted whatever was in the cranberry juice.

Do you believe your flow would have responded differently now? (Mar 29, 2009)?
